Range development | Markindus
From blank page to delivery: we design, have made and deliver your products and ranges, under your brand.
Three product families
We develop single products or complete ranges, in three families:
- Everyday consumer goods, for the end consumer (kitchen, garden, children, wine…)
- Intermediate goods, for other manufacturers (containers for biscuit makers, cases for jewellery…)
- Point-of-sale equipment, for the points of sale (hangers for clothing stores, POS, window decor, stackable gold price cubes, signage…)
What a client expects from range development
A logo placed on an imported product is not enough to make a branded range. Whether it is a private-label range, a container for another manufacturer or point-of-sale equipment, the request is the same: a coherent assortment, a price that holds, consistent quality, and a supplier who takes responsibility for product compliance. And a single point of contact between the design, the factory and the freight forwarder.
That has been the trade of Markindus since 2006: we design products, we have them made and we import them for our clients, distributors, manufacturers and retail chains.
Our process, from brief to delivery
Every project follows the same flow, with approval milestones at each step:
- Brief and specification. We start from your need: target price, assortment or product specifications, technical and packing constraints. The specification sets the scope before any commitment. Sometimes the idea comes from us: we suggest a product, you decide whether it belongs in your range.
- Design. Definition of the products, the materials, the packaging under your brand. You approve the mock-ups before development begins.
- Factory sourcing. We select the factory within the network we have worked with since 2006, in Asia (Vietnam, China, India) or in Europe, depending on the product and the specification.
- Sampling and approval. You receive pre-production samples. Nothing goes into manufacturing without your sign-off on the piece.
- Production and quality control. Production monitoring, factory inspections and independent audits before shipping. Compliance with the applicable standards is written into the specification from the brief.
- Importing and delivery. We handle transport, customs clearance and delivery to your logistics terms.
Which product worlds
We develop in the worlds we work in:
- Everyday goods: kitchen utensils and items, garden and biodiversity (nest boxes, feeders, insect hotels, in FSC® certified wood), children’s items, wine (gift sets, corkscrews, serving items).
- Intermediate goods: containers for biscuit makers, cases for jewellery, and other components for other manufacturers.
- Point-of-sale equipment: hangers for clothing stores, display POS, window decor, price display systems.
We deliberately keep to this scope: it is what lets us know the makers, the materials and the standards of each family.
Depending on your need, the project can start from a blank page or build on an existing catalogue product, adapted to your brand and positioning.
What it changes for you
You have a single point of contact, based in Lyon, from the first brief to receipt at the warehouse. Product decisions, sample approvals and production monitoring go through the same team, in English, on your time zone.
You keep control of your brand and your specifications: the product and the packaging are developed for you, not taken from a generic catalogue, with possible exclusivity on the developments made for you.
You also do not carry the financial weight of the project. We buy the goods, we pay the factory and the transport upfront, on our cash, and invoice you on delivery, in euros. A development under your brand therefore does not tie up your cash during the months of production and transport. Only large orders, on a very specific production, involve a 30% deposit at order.

Frequently asked questions
Which product families can you develop a range in?
In the three families we work in: everyday consumer goods (kitchen, garden, children, wine…), intermediate goods for other manufacturers (containers for biscuit makers, cases…) and point-of-sale equipment (hangers, POS, window decor, signage).
Can we start from an existing product in your catalogue?
Yes. Many projects start from a catalogue product, adapted to your brand: packaging, colours, box contents, case packing. It is the fastest route to the shelf. Full development, by contrast, starts from your brief.
What is the lead time between brief and delivery?
It depends on the product, the level of customisation and the production period. We set a firm reverse schedule as soon as the specification is approved, with the intermediate milestones: sample, approval, production, shipping.
Who controls production quality?
We follow production at the maker and bring in independent audit bodies before shipping. The detail is described on our quality audit page.
Do we need to hold stock in advance?
No. We work project by project, for you and under your brand, with no stock to clear. Production is set to your volumes and your shelf schedule.
